Crypto Exchange Academies: Free Web3 Education You're Underestimating

Why you should start with free resources before paying for courses - a deep dive into Bitget Academy
The birthday of cryptocurrency can be traced to two dates: October 31, 2008, when Satoshi Nakamoto published the Bitcoin Whitepaper describing the system, and January 3, 2009, when the network launched and the first "genesis block" was mined.
Since then, the industry has come a long way. New blockchains emerged: Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, and hundreds of others. Infrastructure developed alongside them: exchanges, wallets, DeFi protocols. A startup culture exploded, filling the ecosystem with useful (and not so useful) crypto products.
But one thing remained unchanged: your journey should start with education. Deep understanding of theory is the foundation without which you can't confidently use crypto products or even earn.
Learn to Earn: How It All Started
Around 2014-2015, the Learn to Earn mechanic was born. It became the first step into Web3 for millions of users worldwide.
The concept is remarkably simple:
Projects allocate rewards for people to learn about their technology. Users read an article or watch a video, pass a short quiz - and receive cryptocurrency in their account. The project gets educated potential users; newcomers get their first crypto without any investment.
Surprisingly, exchanges were the first to launch such programs. It's hard to say who pioneered this format, but today similar programs exist on every major platform.
Why exchanges?
Thanks to their relative convenience compared to decentralized applications, exchanges were and remain the number one choice for newcomers taking their first steps with cryptocurrency. That's why education on exchanges continues to evolve and provides deep foundational understanding of the industry.
The Dark Side of Crypto Education
Unfortunately, Web3 education has seen plenty of scandals. The reason is simple: many people want to learn how to earn like their favorite blogger. And even better — learn quickly.
Due to enormous demand, the market saw a flood of paid courses on various topics:
Basic general crypto directions
Trading and technical analysis
DeFi strategies
NFT and metaverses
Technical smart contract development courses
We're not against paid courses. Among them are quality products created by experts with real experience. But we want to warn readers:
There's no magic pill. There's no "money button" either. Information about starting in any niche is available in the public space - for free.
Before paying for a course, check whether you can find the same information in free exchange academies, official project documentation, or quality YouTube channels.
Bitget Academy: What's Inside
We decided to thoroughly examine Bitget's academy to understand: what exactly can a newcomer learn, and will it be enough?
Learn to Earn Section

The first thing greeting me in the Learn to Earn section is an active article about stock futures trading. Following that are numerous pages with informational articles. Honestly, there's a lack of clear structure and logical presentation here — materials are scattered quite chaotically.
But this is compensated by another section.
Academy Section

Everything here is much more structured. Materials can be filtered by:
Difficulty — beginner, intermediate, advanced
Reading time — from short 5-minute articles to deep 20+ minute materials
Topic — specific directions and products
Topics follow a logical sequence:
Beginner instructions - where to start, how to register, basic security
Product guides - how to use specific exchange tools
Financial management - how to manage risks, allocate portfolio
Trading basics - order types, reading charts, basic analysis
Important events - halving, network upgrades, regulatory changes
Wallets - how they work, how to protect them, custodial vs non-custodial
Market niches - DeFi, NFT, GameFi, metaverses
Niche directions - tokens and NFTs on Bitcoin blockchain (Ordinals, BRC-20) and other specific topics
The academy contains over 3,313 articles. This is a massive volume of material covering virtually all aspects of the crypto industry.
The writing format is typically simplified to make it easier for newcomers to dive into the material. Articles avoid excessive jargon, explain terms, and use examples.
Important to understand: don't expect top-secret money-making methods from basic education. They're not there - and that's normal. The academy's goal is to provide a foundation, not a ready-made wealth strategy.
What's Sufficient for Starting:
Understanding what blockchain and cryptocurrencies are
Learning to safely use an exchange
Mastering basic operations: buying, selling, transferring
Getting an overview of different directions: trading, DeFi, NFT
Understanding main risks and how to minimize them
What Free Academy Won't Provide:
A ready-made profitable strategy (it doesn't exist in any course)
Deep expertise in a specific niche (requires practice)
Personal mentorship and feedback
Up-to-date information on the latest trends (articles aren't updated instantly)
However. After familiarizing yourself with free materials, you'll be able to start practicing independently. And practice is what truly changes the game. You'll find your personal "life-change" through your own efforts, through trial and error, not in any course.
How to Maximize Free Education Value
Step 1: Determine Your Level
Be honest with yourself. If you don't know how Bitcoin differs from Ethereum - start with the beginner section. There's no point jumping to futures without understanding the basics.
Step 2: Choose One Direction
Don't try to learn everything at once. Complete the basics, then focus: trading, DeFi, NFT, or something else. Depth beats breadth.
Step 3: Practice Alongside
Read an article about order types - try placing a limit order for a small amount. Theory without practice is forgotten within a week.
Step 4: Take Notes
Write down key concepts in your own words. This helps absorb the material and creates your personal knowledge base.
Step 5: Supplement with Other Sources
The exchange academy is a start, not a finish. Read project documentation, follow Twitter/X, join communities.
Offline as a Complement to Online
Online academies provide theory, but live communication gives context, answers to specific questions, and networking.
Kumeka Team together with Bitget has already conducted over 5 workshops and a major meetup in Lviv, Chernivtsi, Ternopil, and Kyiv. The format is simple: we gather students and young people, explain the basics without fluff, answer questions, and give bonuses.
It's an opportunity to ask "how does this actually work?" and get an answer from people who do this every day.
Want to join? Register on Bitget through Kumeka Team's referral link - you'll get starter bonuses and stay updated on upcoming events.

The Bottom Line
Don't underestimate free education. It can be - and is - valuable.
Over 3,000 articles in Bitget Academy, thousands of materials on other platforms, official project documentation, YouTube, Twitter - all available without any payment.
Paid courses have their place, but before spending money, make sure you've exhausted free resources. Often it turns out that "secret information" from a paid course is just repackaged basics from open sources.
Start with free resources. Practice. Find your path. And if you need something specific - then look at paid options with an understanding of what exactly you need.
Web3 education is more accessible than ever. The only thing required - is to start.
